Return from Middle Earth!
DLCS performed live at a screening of The Fellowship of the Ring on Sunday 11th October in the 3Arena, at both the matinee and evening performances. Howard Shore’s incredible soundtrack was performed by DLCS, the Irish Institute of Music and Song Children’s Choir, and the Irish Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Ludwig Wicki.
In his review, Ed Power, the Irish Times’ film critic noted that ‘..singers from Dún Laoghaire Choral Society intone hauntingly during the prologue.’ Audience members described an ‘absolutely amazing concert’, ‘one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to’ and ‘Spectacular! Really enjoyed it and the choir sounded magnificent’.
